DIAL ADJUSTABLE TENSION MASTER PUSHERS
MEASURING TENSION Using
a bar end or short piece of stock and a platform scale (as pictured) place
pusher on the bar end and press down until the pusher begins to slip on
the stock. Tension will be indicated on the scale in pounds.

HERE'S HOW THE DIAL ADJUSTABLE TENSION PUSHER WORKS Insert End A of "Quick-Twist" wrench at point "A" and turn 90° to open pusher. Place segment of pad containing key-way into cavity matching the formed key in the Master Pusher, then assemble other segment and release wrench slowly, making sure the pads seat properly in cavity. Always remove pusher assembly from pusher tube to adjust tension. Next insert a piece of the bar stock of correct size into Master Pusher and screw it into Outer Sleeve (left hand thread) until it stops. This gives you the minimum tension possible. Remove bar stock from Master Pusher and start adjustment for tension. (You can not change tension with bar in pusher). To increase tension, adjust to a larger number on the Dial (insert the bar stock and check the tension from time to time), until required tension is reached. To hold the tension that you desire while you are assembling the pusher into the tube, insert the bar stock in the pusher assembly, but only far enough so that you can still use the End B of keyed wrench handle in slot "B" to tighten the pusher assembly into the pusher tube or pusher adapter. ALWAYS adjust tension by hand and not with wrenches. Do not screw Master Pusher too tightly into Outer Sleeve without bar in pusher, or locking action will be caused by the spiral spring members and difficulty will be experienced in removing or loosening Outer Sleeve. CAUTION If you happen to get this assembly locked up so that you can't remove the spiral spring sleeve, first remove the bar stock if it has been inserted. Now remove the adapter if you have one. Use a small spanner wrench inserted into the "dial sight hole", or pliers gripping lightly on spiral members near the sight hole and turn to the right to loosen. (It is a left hand thread.) See cut above.* Use wrench end B in slot "C" to hold pusher from turning while removing spring outer sleeve with pliers by turning same to right. Never try to unlock by using slot "B" - as this will make the spiral spring shorter and lock it up tighter. |
